Rafael Lopez was born in Cochabamba, Bolivia. He was raised in Arlington, Virginia. Mr. Lopez graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Management.
In 2002, he was appointed Zoning Administrator for the Town of Dumfries. In 2004, he was elected to the Dumfries Town Council, Virginia’s oldest continuously chartered Town, and served a four year term.
Mr. Lopez was the Republican Candidate for Virginia State Delegate in 2009 and narrowly lost the election. He was a board member of Virginia Governor McDonnell’s Diversity Supplier Advisory Board.
He enjoys spending time with his family, volunteering for non-profit organizations, participate in civic related events, and spending time outdoors.
